Years of Existence
The Project also focused on vocational skills-building, whereby soap-making training was conducted for 35 refugees and 15 members of the host community. Participants acquired practical soap-making skills and received soap-making ingredients along with Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) guidelines on mass production, packaging, and branding. The training focused on unique types of liquid soap, shampoo, shower gel, and bar soap.
Haki Centre Organisation (HCO) is a non-governmental organisation operating within the coastal region of Kenya. HCO was founded in 2006 by young and vibrant human rights advocates from the Coast and Northeastern Provinces of Kenya to promote the progressive realization of human rights in the region by ensuring communities’ ownership and active engagement in the struggles for social justice, good governance, and equity.
